One of Leeds' finest venues welcomes one of Germany's finest Techno purveyors, Ben Klock, along with a whole host of other staunch names including Pariah on the 29th of November.
It's been too long since Ben Klock last played in a Leeds club and what better way to break the bitter dry spell than have him grace us Yorkshire folk with his presence at one of Leeds oldest and best loved institutions of clubs, The Warehouse, courtesy of Selective Hearing at the end of this month.
Klock's reputation may precede him by a country mile or two but believe us, it's totally justified. Now a worldwide top-tier DJ in his own right, his animalistic brand of driving, industrial music is still at the beating heart of everything that it means to be associated with Techno in it's current form, of course, most notably at his spiritual home, in Berlin. Where his omnipresent sets on the Berghain floor, have it turned a modern day Mecca for the dance music lover, with Klock and fellow resident Marcell Dettmann (a previous Selective Hearing guest himself) are seen as the figureheads of an entire generation of techno to fans across the globe.
With his strong affiliation with the label's output, Ostgut Ton, and a passion and intensity towards music that spills over entire weekends at a time, lavishly painting the abandoned power station with hedonistic marathons of techno that can often be heard creeping well into the hours of Monday morning. For a club so renowned for its strict door policy and exclusivity, his popularity outside those sacred four walls is a testament to his power behind the decks. A rare sight to behold in our small northern city of Leeds, and something which will be very special indeed.
But if for any reason unbeknownst to us that doesn't sound up your street, then fear not, we've got all bases covered.
For in support, the Selective Hearing chaps have deftly plucked two of the finest names in forward thinking UK electronic music to stand alongside him. A gritted determination towards their underground Techno leaning booking policy, spanning multiple cities and clubs, they have continue to deliver consistently dynamic and exciting artists to a northern scene that all too often panders to 'safe' House bookings.
First up, South London Ordanance, after making somewhat surprising appearances at Richie Hawtin's Enter. at Space in Ibiza for the second successive summer season in a row, he's caught the attention of more than a few Techno jocks with this own twist of chunky UK bass sounds.
And a special mention for well-respected selector, Pariah, who after being born out of that very fertile 'post-dubstep' era a few years back, now finds himself stood firmly in the Techno camp, through a string of collaborations with fellow UK tastemaker Blawan, under their Karenn alias. Who not only pose a hugely impressive analogue live show, but some savage Techno records to back it up.
Do not miss out on this one, get your tickets here.
