Peter Clamat - Supercavitation (Incl. Odysea Re-Vision)

The upcoming release from Neovinyl Recordings comes from Germany, with Peter Clamat releasing his EP, 'Supercavitation'. Full of grooves and deep beats, Clamat shows off three of his tracks and a fourth track offering Odysea’s re-vision of his track, ‘Obeye Obelisque’.

The EP opening, ‘GelĂ©e Royal’, holds itself on the back of it’s ominous beat, deep into the introduction of the track’s house-chords galore. The track is cleanly executed and doesn't require much development as it manages to swoon into the breaks and drops of the song. With the experimentation of Clamat’s sampling ability, the EP opens with prowess.

The EP moves into the second track, ‘Obeye Obelisque’. It echoes the formula of the opener, moving through the beat with a focus on its house-chords. It did feel at times that the track became drowned out by its own SFX, but it’s bright presentation keeps it playful.

Backside’ stands as Supercavitation’s strongest track with a perfection to the standard Clamat mixed his hi-hat; its introduction is obvious and immediately erupts the track with grand ambition. The undertone of the track relies on an hypnotic dub-influence, running through with further dependance on the inclusion of house-chords.

The Re-Vision closes the EP, and proves to be a satisfying blend of a groove in the upbeat, but a calm with the sounds of melancholy. Odysea completely re-imagine the track to a complex design that concludes the EP with stylistic identity.

Supercavitation is strong release from Peter Clamat and the included re-vision is a well-recieved contribution to the EP. The formal release from Neovinyl Recordings will land on the 18th of December and is only three of thirty tracks Clamat has released this year.
