Harry 'Baauer' Rodrigues, the producer responsible for internet phenomenon 'Harlem Shake' has teamed up with Redbull Media in his new film 'Searching for Sound'.
Baauer and producer Nick Hook traversed the globe to find new sounds, visiting places like Japan and the Untied Arab Emirates, and recorded music and noises indigenous to these countries. They recorded foreign instruments, as well as found sounds, to create a diverse and unusual collection of sounds (many of which can be heard on Bauuer's new ß EP).
Redbull were there to film the creative process as they learned from a variety of foreign musical cultures. The film showcases that duo tapping into rich musical heritages and finding a wealth of new sounds that they then recorded and archived for later use. The ß EP brilliantly showcases some of these sounds, and is definitely a refreshing change from standard trap music.
