Review: Manudi - K-Res EP

Next month we are treated to a huge release from Spinne Records, MANUDI with the new EP ‘K-RES’. It features a remix from AUMREC.

First track on the release, ‘K-RES’ features a strong pumping beat from the onset. Whilst still maintaining consistency throughout AUMREC add sparse claps and snares alongside the prominent synth stabs in the piece.

The repetitive vibe throughout the beginning of the track makes the development 3 minutes in much more powerful and effective as MANUDI soften the beat a little with hypnotic pad sounds just before bringing back the spiciness of the drums at 3.56.

This track is unique because of its repetitive status which is welcomed throughout thanks to the same awkwardly brilliant synth sounds and bass bursting in the distance. The absence of vocals throughout the track is forgiven as the robotic persistence of the piece has its own message to portray, that you can be taken to a place of peace but still sense curiosity to a point where you almost can’t relax as one has an obligation to listen through to the full work of MANUDI.

Second track from MANUDI is a remix of ‘K-RES’ by duo AUMREC. Starting off more full, the drums in the remix are stronger, the beat more alive. There is definitely a ‘club vibe’ here overall with seriously effective synths and cleverly crafted, repetitive sound effects in the background.
The drop slightly near the beginning of the track sees the drums fade out a little only to welcome an increase of intensity from the lingering synth with its almost unnerving effect, creeping in on us just before the beat comes back again in full force, taking us fully and happily by surprise.

This electro-trance like rhythm is addictive. The overall beat has a unique stamp with its crackling record-like effect and eerie synths which are persistent throughout.
With reverberated bangs and clangs and heavenly snares, this piece of work has an other-worldly feel to it, really taking us above and beyond the dance type of music we are used to before it fades out expertly leaving us wanting more.

‘Dynamo’ the third track on the release doesn’t hold back for anyone. We are given an intense musical collaboration of exotic synth stabs combined with a mixture of echoed and electric drums.
Picture an intense action scene in a dark, deserted warehouse, adrenaline, speed and a magnetic power traps us in with this beat from MANUDI.
Again, claps, snares and overall pushy, forceful drum claps keep the beat driven and moving forward.

At 2.29 we are completely taken by surprise with an unexpected melodic riff pattern that perks our ears up in a way most producers crave their music to, before the overall beat slowly drops out leaving us only with this edgy, prolific lead for a few moments.
Thus we return to the magnetic, forceful drum and bass action fuelled ‘full’ section of the track.

Overall this piece will either have you on the edge of your seat or on your feet with its exciting intensity and powerful characteristics.
The final track on the EP, ‘MARES’ reels in its listener’s right from the beginning. Again MANUDI start us off with the kick and snare approach here, before expertly swinging in a creatively distinctive and unique synth lead keeping the excitement throughout.
Keeping the echoed, reverb laden sound effects in tact we are once again taken on a journey with the creative producers. Bold, loud, exhilarating and crashing sound effects make the piece dramatic and intense.

Overall MANUDI have an expertly creative way of making their music unique with just enough power and brashness to keep their listeners addicted and wanting more throughout. From the loud and boisterous sound effects to the illustrious, indulgent drums and synths this EP sure to be a hit this season.
