Castanea Records is a new solely underground project born directly out of passion for the music. The name has been chosen to present a symbol of development and growth.
Castanea relates to the name of a plant and represents the route label hopes to take, giving concrete meaning to years of study and hard work in the hope of delivering a solid contribution of novelty to the world of house music.
The aim is to ensure a quality sound, aiming to fill the gulf that lays between minimal and deep techno.
The first release has somewhat of a cosmic feel about it, not surpsing when the tracks are aptly named "Lost Moons" and "Ticket To The Galaxy". The intergalactic frequencies and synths that permeate the deep hypnotic basslines are a superb accompaniment, making you feel as if you are setting out on your own interstellar journey through space and time.
The label plans to feature both established and emerging artists, such as the Ukrainian Yaroslav Lenzyak who will make the first solid release of Lost Moons E.P, exclusively on vinyl as with all the other eagerly awaited upcoming releases. The label will not produce for the digital market, they believe in creating an exclusive product and their ideology remains firmly in line with the tremendous vinyl resurgence.
