Preivew: Fieldtrip Music & Arts Festival 15th - 17th August, Leeds

Long have we dared to dream of a truly intimate organic festival in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside.

Shying away from the corporate mass of fine tuned soulless festivals that have plagued our shores in recent years, Fieldtrip instead has the potential to offer the fulfilment found from, the now rare, en masse gatherings of like minded people celebrating counter-culture.

You can be safe in the knowledge that your experience won't be blighted by an intrusive "Nandos" stage as the festival has been influenced by the far flung experiences of the organiser's journey to a varied array of festivals. These include some of the UK's own more alternative gatherings but also the most renowned radical festival of self expression and self-reliance - Burning Man in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada.

Fieldtrip's debut is to be celebrated on the stunning Yorkshire moors between the 15th and 17th of August. The intimate 1500 capacity location utilizes the lush scenery on offer in the surrounding area of Leeds. Only a short drive away from the city you will find Addingham Moor in Ilkley where the stage will be set for this exciting new festival.

Without even mentioning a word about the lineup, this festival already entices us with its uniqueness and flamboyant approach. That being said, the roster of incredibly talented artists only works to further strengthen the festival's pull as it holds host to a mixture of intentional and local acts - all of which span across a wide spectrum of genres.

Stalwart house messiah Todd Terry will himself be headlining along with some of our other favourites such as Boddika, Ben UFO, Leon Vincent, Prosumer, Tamo Sumo and Darius Syrossian. The headliners are backed up with a vast plethora of supporting acts which include live performances from China Bull Shop, Soul Circle Gang. and Leeds' own Paris X Y.

The ethos of the line-up is to provide is about quality, rather than what is hot at the minute, thus giving people the opportunity to leave the festival with a new favourite DJ or band.

You can expect to see the artists across 7 specially designed areas, each with its own themed environment which include performance acts and participatory games to ensure a truly engaging experience. Aside from the music you can expect to find cider stalls, a hand-picked selection of amazing street food, live comedy and kamikaze karaoke, mud wrestling and unique little habitats to play in, craft stalls and acrobats as well as rap battles, a secret cinema and oodles of local real ales from Yorkshire breweries.

Fieldtrip is is truly being built up to be one of the most exciting new festivals in the UK this year, an essential for your festival calendar.

We're certainly going to be there, are you?
