8 Songs That Will Make You Forget It's Winter

Friday, February 06, 2015 | Posted by: Unknown

Let’s face it...we’re still well and truly in the middle of winter... Even though January has already passed us by in it’s typically unforgiving blur, we’ve still got a few more months to ride out.

Sure we get some solace from dancing away the winter months in the sweatiest corners of the club, or even gracing the ski slopes to embrace those winter festivals... But winter raving is in all honesty a dedicated clubber’s game

You long for the nights when you don’t have to pay to get six outer layers of clothing into the cloakroom and don’t have to risk hypothermia waiting for an Uber at 6am... I can’t be the only one dreaming of the Summer months, when dance music comes into its own... the festival season begins and we all run off into the sunshine.

But until then, here are eight perfect tracks to keep you mentally sun kissed until the warmer weather graces us once again. A hand full of some of the most melodic, tropical and summery tunes on the scene right now.

Lenno – No More (Les Loups Remix)

This track just oozes long summer days, hazy sunrises and drives with the window down. German production trio Les Loups have remixed this track by Finnish disco house producer Lenno and the result is utterly dream like.

A truly ambient production, Le Loups’ rework is progressive yet nostalgically chilled.

T. Williams – Days End

This week see’s the latest track from T. Williams - released under the launch of his own label: Today, Tomorrow. No stranger to the dance world, Williams hails from a solid ten year background in London garage and grime. ‘Day’s End’ is the title track from the debut EP, with a punchy rolling house beat and a beautiful Balearic breakdown.

Sublime guitars and sax solos drive this track and make it the perfect song to dream of summer, and surely destined to become a hit this year. The label is set to celebrate it’s launch come Feb 12th in Manchester with an Today Tomorrow Records event featuring Maribou State and South African’s Trancemisoul and London’s Tayo. Look out for that one.

Matvey Emerson – All I Want Is You

NuDisco will surely play a big part in the sound of the summer this year, and this young producer from Moscow is sure to make some ripples. His soundcloud is bursting with remixes and originals and well worth a follow.

After the success of his Traxsource number 1 ‘Run Away’, Emerson offers up this seriously smooth and deep production featuring vocals from Gosha, sublime layering of piano, synths and disco funk vibes. Emerson himself describes this track as ‘Sunshine, beaches and water... simple summer feelings squeezed into a tiny .mp3’ I’d say we have to agree with him

Joe Hertz – Tears

This is a seriously classy track released last week from London producer Joe Hertz. Amazingly it’s available as a free download and will bring a smile to your face on even the darkest winter day. It will turn horizontal rain into pink floating petals... no really.

Hertz has an impressively high quality portfolio of music, most of his productions standing out as something above special. This track features distinctive and soulful vocals over some sultry house sounds that just radiate sun-baked memories. Close your eyes and float away...

Karen Harding – Say Something – (Bodhi Remix)

Genius UK duo Bodhi put a 90s piano house spin on Karen Harding’s debut single - produced by MNEK back in September last year.

These boys know how to pack a punch to a production be it remix or original alike, and ‘Say Something’ becomes the ultimate addition to a summer playlist. This is happy backyard banger!

RÆVE - The Sweetest Sin (Original Mix)

Another production available for free download – the latest from Danish producer RAEVE.

It has all the energy and upbeat melodic vibes needed for a perfect summer track. Picture summer BBQs, late nights in the garden, and summer house parties.

St Germain – So Flute (Cleavage Remix)

This is a superb rework of St Germain’s nu jazz funky ‘So Flute’ classic from 2001. Dutch producers Cleavage have spiced this up beyond words and also offer it up as a freebie for your listening pleasure! This follows their smashing track ‘Grace’ released last year on Toolroom with Lars Vegas, and these guys know how to handle an antique classic track with care...

This is such a sexy, vibrant and chic production with warm lounge sensations from summer holidays past. The flute melody is a fresh sound amidst the many sax leads and guitar licks common in production right now.

Tube & Berger – Soulgood

Deep house German duo Tube & Berger have offered a free download of this scorcher of a track that simply glows with summer infusions.

The key to this song is an unbelievably well used sample riff from Dolly Parton’sJolene’, which pulses throughout beneath a skippy house beat. Although a few years old, this track still conjures up that wistful longing for summer... lose yourself in the rolling bass to this beauty.
