Understate - Distant Flash (Free Download)

'Understate' are relative newcomers to the deep-house scene but have had a great first year. After releasing a steady stream of originals (and a brilliant remix of 'Poison' by Pablo Nouvelle), and having their track 'Painted Skies' played on BBC Introducing last month, their new self-released 'Distant Flash' is set to go far.

An atmospheric intro complete with soothing vocal snippets gives way to a chilling, pulsating bass-line, moving the track along whilst the syncopated hats add to the groove. Subtle bass and percussion developments help to give variation, and an eerie breakdown makes way for a second drop into the bass-line.



'Distant Flash' is a solid deep-house tune, and if Understate continue to produce tracks to this standard they are sure to go on to great things. One to watch.
